Backstory
Fey was a human in her past life, a very long time ago during the Black Plague in Europe, and who considered herself as a 'doctor'/healer in her past life. She was a woman however, so she couldn't technically be a physician according to the times- but that didn't stop her from trying to heal the afflicted. She practiced her healing by relying heavily on natural herbs and remedies found in the forest bordering her village, and from the a hidden grove within that Ancient Woodland that would eventually become her Boundary as an esk.
She nursed hundreds of plague-afflicted people, easing their pain and passing mostly- but for some she did help nurse them back to health, for those lucky few who survived it. She was actually quite good at her job, and rather knowledgeable in terms of remedies and such, especially those that come from plants- she'd actually been rather well known and liked in her little hamlet for her skills even before the plague hit.
She had something of a green-thumb as a human, and had an affinity for growing things and in big, beautiful and strong qualities and quantities. The herbs that grew wild in the forest didn't need much help, but she gave it help anyway- and they grew. And because they were so healthy, the herbs were also really potent, and a little could go a long way in terms of helping others.s
So when the plague really hit hard, she did her darnedest to make as much an impact as she could, and heal as many people as was possible. She was tireless in her efforts, falling back on her herbal knowledge. She helped for quite awhile, but as life goes- she ended up with the plague herself. Fey did her best to work through it and still help others, traveling back and forth between her hamlet and the woods to collect the herbs needed- but it eventually got to hard for her, and she ended up collapsing in those woods she had been back and forth to so many times before. It wasn't a quick death, she was there for hours, but it was more or less painless and mostly filled with fever-driven delirium that kept the pain at bay- and for this, memory of the esk that transformed her are rather... skewed.
