-Transformations-
This page lists important information about my esk, and the types of Transformations each of my esk are willing to do, as well as for what reasons/situations they would need to be in to do so. If you need more info on the esk, you can navigate to their pages using the menu at the top, or by clicking either on their pictures, or their name!
These are guidelines, but I am willing to tweak stories/details a bit if you have something more specific in mind! Please lemme know your ideas, and I am happy to plot and brainstorm with you! You can contact me with the links in the Contact Me section of the menu overhead! <33

Boundary: Rustic Restaurant Personality: Spicy, Trusts No One, Lone Wolf, Easy to Scare Nature Features: Jalapeno Will Transform: Humans, Animals, Plants, and Objects Reasons for Transformations: Rhys doesn't really know how to be an esk, so Transformation done by them are done on accident- mostly out of frustration toward the thing they are transforming, a situation they are in, or even out of curiosity that goes a bit far. Rhys is impulsive, and has a bad habit of acting out their feelings without thinking- so if they somehow come across a human who is lost, they'll likely be acting out of frustration or anger toward the human, and maybe even just want them to 'go away'. That much emotional need for the human to leave their sight can result in a transformation.... it is very much the same with animals too. Generally the transformations occur because Rhys really really wants the thing that's bothering them to just go away- or else they really want the whole situation just to quit. For plants and objects it can be rather the same, or a bit different. There are things the humans drop that irk Rhys considerably, such as trash, or things the humans move around and out of their proper place (as according to Rhys)- so that much annoyance toward said objects can result in a transformation much like it would with humans and animals, or else Rhys might become so entranced by an object they get a bit obsessive, and transfer feeling and thought onto it unwittingly, making an Abnormal. As A Creator: Rhys is easy to scare and rile up, so if they do a Transformation, it was more than likely an unpleasant situation/development- so they will likely run and never look back. Do not anticipate this esk to be a Creator that will stay and help the newly transformed, or even have a relationship with them afterward. If Rhys and the esk they created do interact afterward, expect Rhys to be less than receiving- they will have likely gotten freaked out about the unintentional transformation and associate that discomfort with the new esk. Rhys will be prickly, not wanna interact at all, and only grudgingly allow the esk any of their time...... eventually they might be a bit less quick to chase the esk off, but they are never gonna be your friend. At best they'll tolerate their existence, from afar. Plus, Rhys doesn't really know much about esk or even being one- so even if they were to, somehow, be willing to talk to you- they don't know anything about their existence, or even how to esk... so they would be no help anyway. If the esk created hates Rhys for the transformation, or loves them for it- Rhys doesn't care, because they'll just avoid them anyway. |

Boundary: Cemetery Personality: Wise, Unsettling, Passive, Solitary Nature Features: Pumpkin, Dolls Eyes, Nightshade, Oak Leaves Will Transform: Animals, Objects, Other Esk, Plants (special cases) Reasons for Transformations: Morrigan believes deeply in everything having a time to die, so she is very hesitant to transform animals. For her to transform a living thing (plant, animal) she must feel a great sense of pity toward an animal, or even recognize their suffering similar to her own starvation she endured before she became an esk. If she finds an animal starving, or dying of thirst- or even simply succumbing to winter's harsh conditions, it might stir up her own trauma enough she cannot keep herself away from intervening (she does her best never to step into nature' course), and will save the animal suffering. She is much more likely to transform animals that are young and have been dealt a bad hand- like chicks fallen from the nest, young who's mothers were hunted and killed, or even those that got caught in terrible natural disasters. She is most free about Transforming objects, as objects have no set time to perish and wither away. She's not overly fond of humans, but she does find a mild curiosity in human objects that get littered and left behind in the graves. For other esk who wish deeply to change their nature, or simply want to let go of whatever was hampering them- Morrigan will transform them as well, given they are respectful and absolutely sure that is what they want. As A Creator: Morrigan is very old, and very wise, and to those unafraid of approaching her- she has advice to give out, and is happy to talk through some of the more mercurial aspects of being an esk with you. Should she do a transformation, and the newly created esk is inclined- she will help them navigate their new existence to whatever extent is needed. She will answer any questions asked of her, and lend an ear is the esk wishes to talk through some pressing issues they may have, or lingering discomfort that comes from their passed life. If the esk needs advice, she will do her best- but she will not get very actively involved in that esk's life thereafter unless absolutely necessary. As Morrigan is a solitary soul by nature, she won't want to spend any lengthy amount of time around the new esk. She needs her space, and she will wander off and stick to herself.... but if she and the new esk have a good relationship, she'll gladly hang out with them from time to time. She's wary of forming lasting relationships with anything, because she knows all life ends- but with another esk she's less frigid. If the created esk is particularly full of hate, rage, sorrow- or simply resents Morrigan for transforming them, she will leave the esk be, if that is their wish. She'll be a bit regretful to have caused further discomfort, and maybe even distance herself from the mistake as best she can. |
Biome: Arid
Boundary: Isolated Desert Pool Personality: Calm, Patient, Friendly, Spiritualistic, Good Vibes Nature Features: Ocotillo, Prickly Pear Cactus, Saguaro Cactus Blossoms Will Transform: Humans, Animals, Plants, Other Esk, and Objects Reasons for Transformations: Ceres is an avid follower of Majanthi and is very spiritually in-tuned. He works hard to bring harmony and balance to those restless and suffering in the land, and will do whatever it takes to settle strife and discord- that includes Transforming things in an attempt to settle the turmoil. He will gladly transform animals and people who are hurt, lost, and looking for some peace and even a new lease on life. He is also more than willing to prolong the lives of those who have lived well, and long- but wish to keep up putting good back into the world. If it means something will bring peaceful, positive vibes into the world, and even alleviate any negative ones that soul had before being transformed- all the better! He will transform those being plagued by negative energy readily too- though generally first he will try and help alleviate their turmoil in whatever present life they have before resorting to making them an esk. Plants and objects are much the same, if something has negative energy attached to it (being cursed, haunted, sick, whatever) he will transform them and give them free thought and form to try and ease whatever ails them. He has no restrictions on transformations, just as long as he thinks it will help- he'll do it. This includes those esk that have grown and which to realign themselves. As A Creator: This boy lives to be helpful, and to do good. He will definitely be an esk's guiding light and mentor forever however long is needed afterward, and you can be sure he will keep tabs on that esk and keep in touch afterward. Ceres loves company, and he enjoys being around others and telling stories- and he will love to hear the stories and adventures that new esk may go on. And he will especially enjoy teaching the new esk the same ways and teachings that he learned from Majanthi, and join them on their journey for spiritual goodness and the like. Ceres loves convincing others to do as he did, and follow Majanthi's tenants- so if this esk intends to become a student, Ceres will be the best buddy/tutor one can find. If even after the Transformation, the esk aligns as a Trespasser and still holds the negative emotions and energy that Ceres was trying to get rid of and lessen- Ceres is dutiful, and will continue to try and help the new esk work through their issues, and help them in anyway he can. He is an exceedingly patient individual, so even if the esk hates him, or wants nothing to do with him- Ceres will still try and do good on their part, and help them through their pain. |
Biome: Arid
Boundary: Dusty Canyon Floor Personality: Brooding, Haunted, Lonely, Frightening, Trusts No One Nature Features: Peacock Echeveria, Showey Phlox Will Transform: Animals, Humans (souls/spirits only), Plants, and Objects (special cases) Reasons for Transformations: Tzila is a very unhappy soul, and a very solitary one, with no want really to interact with anyone or anything. She does not wish to be bothered, and she's more likely to chase you off than ever let herself get near you- but deep down she is very lonely, even if she does not want to admit it. If Tzila does a transformation, it is a rash decision, and one likely made when there has developed a deep, considerably terrible sensation of ache and loneliness and pain that is considerably more than all the turmoil she usually keeps with her. She'll be in a terrible mood, and a deep, buried part of herself will be looking for some solace in her lonely, haunted existence- so she does what she hardly ever attempts, and tries to bring something else into the world with her. Tzila's Boundary is full of lost souls, awful memories, and terrible, terrible energy- and that paired with her own negative existence, means she only ever manages to bring more Trespassers into the world. The dispositions of these Trespasser's vary, from angry, to sad, etc, but they are all unhappy souls, always. This goes for esk created of plants and objects as well- the Canyon she calls home barren, haunted, and nearly unlivable, and with all that awful emotions and energy collecting in the Canyon floor- the creatures created from items are usually born from things that are cursed, broken things that have ended up in the canyon and are truly lost. And the plants, they were withered, parched and dying, and they stay that way once becoming an Abnormal. As A Creator: Because the esk she brings into the world are always unhappy, and even more so than herself, the attempt at alleviating her own pain never really pays off, and generally she's left all the more haunted. Once the Transformation is done, Tzila might stay for a time, looking at what poor, tortured thing she's created, and then so filled with guilt and regret she'll leave soon after and vow never to see that esk again. She's haunted by the esk she brings into being only for them to be as unhappy as she is, and she does her utmost never to cross paths with them again. Since her Boundary is so large generally it's not an issue, and she's only ever Transformed a a few, so she can manage it... but in the times they do see each other, the general reaction is distaste and unease on both sides. She knows that new esk will be bound to the same place she is, so there is no real way to chase them off- but if she knows they are getting close, she will screech and hound them with negative energy and intent to make them stay away. She will never get close to these esk, she will not help them- she's done enough damage by simply creating them. |

Boundary: Desert Botanical Garden Personality: Kind, Thoughtful, Healing, Diligent Nature Features: Sage Will Transform: Animals, Plants, Humans, Other Esk, and Objects Reasons for Transformations: Saige is a kind and compassionate soul, with a great love for growing things and all those creature who roam the earth. Her Boundary is a desert botanical garden which is quite extensive, housing all sorts of desert faring plants, creatures, exhibits, and human oddities like art, and more developed plants and cultures in places. As A Creator: ??? |
Biome: Developed
Boundary: Abandoned Funhouse Personality: Fickle, Mischievous, Trickster, Playful Nature Features: Hedera Helix Ivy Will Transform: Animals, Plants, Other Esk, and Objects Reasons for Transformations: Pan doesn't really need a reason to do a Transformation, he's driven by impulse in everything he does and if he comes across an opportunity, and he's in the mood- he will take it. Doesn't matter why something is there, or how they had become lost- as long as it is not a human, any sort of Transformation is a go. There is extra incentive though, should it be a lost dog (as he was one in his past life), or if he's pretty sure doing the Transformation will result in the sort of esk that'll help him raise hell in his little corner of the world. Pan is a huge trickster and loves to mess with and play tricks on whoever is unlucky enough to venture into his Boundary- and he'll especially love it if the new esk dislikes humans just as much as Pan does. As A Creator: Pan will not be the best of mentors, nor really much of a guide for the new esk. He is not gonna be someone to help an esk through their emotional drama/trauma, and he's not the sort to talk through feelings or anything of the like. He's not an emotionally balanced soul in himself, and he doesn't really linger on sappy stuff- he ignores it, so he's not gonna bring it up with the new esk, and don't expect it to be a topic of discussion if they bring it up instead. Pan is gonna be more interested in finding ways to rope the new esk into his escapades and tricks, whether or not that means the new esk joins him in his machinations, or refuses it- wherein Pan will likely spend the bulk of his time turning his tricks on the new esk in whatever way he can. As Pan has a quick to change and very fickle personality, there is a high chance he and the new esk will bud heads if the new esk is not a fan of how bipolar Pan can be, or otherwise does not take kindly to having tricks played on them. The budding of heads won't be supercharged generally, as Pan is not generally malicious- just more mischievous. But if the conflict goes to far resentment may be likely to happen, and the tricks Pan plays on the new esk can grow gradually more nasty. Now, in the event the newly created esk is destructive to Pan's Boundary, or otherwise likes to alter things within it too much- Pan will not like that. At all. Pan is very set in his ways about things in the Boundary and he has it all set up so he gets the maximum amount of spook and trick factor on those who wander into the Park, and if the new esk interferes with these things too much Pan will not be a happy camper. Pan will also not take kindly to the new esk interfering in the tricks and traps he makes and pulls on unsuspecting victims.... if the new esk just casually steers others away from the Park it might be less of an issue, but if they actively muck up Pan's tricks and plans in the middle of them- there will be retribution for this. Also, Pan is a huge packrat and hoards things. If the new esk is like minded they will have lots of fun making up their little trash city... or they could butt heads if the new esk is more inclined toward cleanliness. |
Biome: Fresh Waters
Boundary: Water Garden Personality: Dreamer, Nostalgic, Friendly, Loves Adventures Nature Features: Water Lily, Ludwigia Repens Will Transform: Humans, Animals, Plants, Other Esk, and Objects (special cases) Reasons for Transformations: Lior is a friendly guy, and will gladly transform animals, other esk, and people who are hurt, lost, and looking for some peace and even a new lease on life. As he himself found peace and a better existence by being turned into an esk, it would be a treat to help someone else have an easier time, if they are in a dark place. Plants and objects are much the same, if something calls to him, or has some certain sort of sparkle- the Transformation is likely to occur without qualms. He has no real restrictions on transformations, just as long as he thinks it will help someone, or might be interesting- he'll do it. This includes those esk that have grown and which to realign themselves.... though Lior is not as quick to jump into transformations as others. He tries not to be selective about things, but he is acutely aware of his friend and Boundary Partner Tassi- who is not as friendly as Lior and can be rather solitary- and Lior will do his best not to bring in anyone to the Boundary that might tread on anyone's toes. This does mean he has two restrictions- he will only do a handful of Transformations, and he will never Transform anything/anyone who is extremely emotionally disturbed or angry when they become Lost. This also means that all of the new esk that Lior Transforms do align as Travelers about 90% of the time. The chance a new esk aligns as a Trespasser is not zero, but if they do they will likely have a nature that runs along the lines of being sad, forlorn, lonely, shy, etc. As Lior avoids the things that are extremely emotionally/unstable and volatile there's really no chance a new esk will be malicious or mean. As A Creator: Lior is a very well-traveled, and well balanced esk, and you can be sure that he will be as much a guide and mentor as a new esk may need. He has a lot of knowledge of all sorts of other esk, boundaries, and personalities from his travels and adventures- so he has lots of knowledge to give, and advice, and stories to share. He will do his best to answer any questions, and help the new esk through their troubles to the best of his ability- he might not always manage it, but he will really try. He's a very sweet dude, and he's super easy going, so even if there is some discontent, or the new esk doesn't really wanna hang out or anything- Lior will be chill with that. You'll see him from time to time, popping in randomly and chatting casually- he won't be overbearing in anyway, he will give the esk the space they want. He got really good about it with Tassi, and played the long game with ease and pleasure until they warmed up with one another and became friends. Lior will also make sure to help Tassi and the new esk get along, he doesn't want discord in the Boundary, or anybody to step on each others toes. If need be, he will gladly act as mediator. Lior will also totally encourage the new esk to go on adventures on their own, or even join him in visiting other places and meeting new esk. He'd love a travel buddy from time to time, or if the new esk wants to go it alone- he'd love to just trade stories and such. |
Biome: Plains
Boundary: Wildflower Meadow Personality: Trickster, Fallacious, Sentinel, Fierce, Deceitful Nature Features: False Sunflower Will Transform: Animals, Plants Reasons for Transformations: Anwir has only reason for ever doing a Transformation, and that is to help alleviate the suffering of plants and animals fallen victim to natural disasters, plague, hunger, injury- and especially those that have fallen victim to wildfire and the destructive path carved by the Wanderer Vetru. Anwir is not a personable soul, and they do not interact with others on choice of their own (unless playing tricks or scaring intruders off), so the only reason they would transform anyone/thing is if they are suffering. Anwir's Boundary is very dry and prone to wildfires, and is quick to go up- especially in the event of lightning storms fueled by Vetru or otherwise, and even the carelessness of humans. Anwir does their best to curb wildfires whenever they get going, and generally they can keep it from getting too far- but sometimes things are inevitable, and not everything can be avoided. Anwir is quick to transform animals suffering from burns/smoke inhalation to stop their pain. But that does not mean they are unwilling to transform those animals that are injured, starving, or ill. Anwir does not like to see too much pain and suffering, as they suffered a lot before they were transformed into a esk. There is an odd phenomena that occurs when Anwir transforms animals that have been burned by fire- the new esk have some sort of clear markings on their body that are reminiscent of where they were burned. This is a required design trait the new esk must have. The reasons for transforming plants is very much the same, those that have been burned badly, or are not doing well because of drought, disease, or perhaps even dug up/cut down prematurely by unruly humans. Plants are odd cases, which means the abnormals they create are generally very thin, damaged/cracked, and bear marks of the damage they bore before being transformed. This means they'll be shriveled, blackened, covered in ash, etc. As A Creator: Anwir is a difficult personality and a very solitary one, so they would not be helpful to the new esk, or be one to act as a guide. Directly after the transformation is done, Anwir will give the new esk some instruction.... but to be fairly honest, it will be cryptic and not make much sense. (Anwir talks in riddles and generally what they say is opposite of what they mean). Anwir will also give the new esk warning not to destroy the Boundary or do harm to it, and they will be adamant on making sure no harm comes to their meadow from anyone or anything- this includes any esk they transform. Anwir will not like it much if the new esk is clingy to them, or follows them around- and they will do their best to avoid the new esk as much as they can. A meeting here and there every few days, or weeks, will not be an issue- but every day, and constant interaction will likely end in conflict, or Anwir involving the new esk in some unfortunate tricks, lies, etc. Anwir will try not to interact with the new esk too much, but if the new esk has the same want/need to protect the Boundary as Anwir does- their relationship may be a little more lax..... though generally it was always be an odd, and sort of off-the-rails acquaintance. Any interaction with Anwir will bring something new, so how they interact with the new esk can vary wildly, and at all times. They are not going to be friends, but perhaps they'll find some odd common ground, and regard one another silently. |
Biome: Forest
Boundary: Old-Growth Forest Personality: Relaxed, Friendly, Homebody, Naive, Wanderer Nature Features: Sitka Spruce Will Transform: Animals, Plants, Humans (souls/spirits), Other Esk, and Objects Reasons for Transformations: Nephele tries her best not to Transform any living thing unless she feels there is a good reason to do it, though generally what qualifies as a 'good reason' is rather broad, and it will take little to actually convince her to go ahead with it. She has no qualms on what sort of personality she encounters when it comes to doing the transformation. If something is malicious, angry, sad, distressed, tired- whatever, it's not an issue. And it's not an issue for her if the new esk is mean, angry, angsty, or whatever- she goes with the flow, doesn't get worked up.... and honestly, her Boundary is freakin' massive, so if she really cared, she can avoid that esk for the rest of their days with absolute ease. So be it animal, plants, other esk, or random objects dropped by the sparse few humans that come through- pretty much anything goes! She won't transform humans if they are in a physical form (since she's very wary of humans... they are not a common occurrence where she resides), but a human who's soul/spirit/ghost has somehow become bound to the forest for some reason, those are up for grabs too. The special cases she jumps into with absolutely no hesitation are the cases in which there are baby animals lost or hurt- if she finds one that is in a very bad way, and there's no way to save it other than a transformation- she is 100% straight away on the job. Nepehele loves baby animals and it will be the worst to see one in such a bad situation, so you'll be sure she'll do anything she can, and expend as much energy as is needed. As A Creator: Nephele can pretty much be whatever you need, a friend, a rival, a role model, whatever. She's not the brightest of souls, and she can be a bit naive- so if you are looking for advice, she'll give it to you.... it just might not be the best advice. She tried though. Also beware making her a role model, as the new esk is likely to pick up some strange habits- but if that's not an issue, Neph's happy to influence! Neph is also a huge wanderer, she literally walks, and walks, and walks- her Boundary is very expansive, and she never stays in one place too long. She'll be the best hiking partner, and great to hang out with, play around, chill, and climb through the trees with. She'll probably break off from the new esk a lot, and they might not see her for a few days, or even a few weeks if they don't go wandering alongside her- but if Neph and the new esk are on good terms and friendly, they will for sure see her again. If the new esk is not friendly, or isn't inclined to being around Neph- that's fine too. They can keep their space and if wanted- never see eachother. It will not bother Neph at all. Now in the case of esk Neph made from a lost/injured baby animal, she'll likely be a bit more clingy, and check in a lot, make sure they're doing okay, show them around, all of that jazz. She'll still wander and do her usual thing moving about the Boundary, but she will check in more often than she would with other sorts of esk. |
