Boundary
Rhys Boundary lies on a cute, quaint, and homey little rustic restaurant situated in the center of a series of city public parks and gardens. The city itself is well populated, but not to the extent of large cities like Denver and New York, so the restaurant receives quite a bit of traffic and visitors, and on weekends is quite packed- though it simmers down in the middle of the week. However overall the restaurant earns its greatest level of foot traffic in the afternoons and evenings, given it has a great patio area and is laden with dazzling lights that intertwine with the surrounding trees, vegetation and plant-life granted by the surrounding parkland.
The inside of the restaurant is homey, rustic, and has a lot of built in plant-life and other elements. There is no shortage of plants scattered on the tables and in planters both inside and outside, crawling vines and creepers thickly covering the walls, and planters and terrariums hung from the roofs and overhanging balconies from the upper floors. Free-hanging old-timey light bulbs line sections of the space, where in other areas bulbs stuck inside mason jars and chained overhead.... Sections of warm orange-yellow fairy lights and mason light fixtures line pergolas and lattice work choked in leaves and other flowers, and the trees have colorful bottles hanging from their limbs. The whole restaurant is warmly lit and colored, with splashes of green and other colors from flowers and what-else. It's filled with a constant in and out of food and people, and animals too that inhabit the outside portions of the patio and the park that surround it.
The food being served is a conglomerate of American/farmhouse classic foods, with a southwestern/tex-mex cuisine. The restaurant grows a few of their own fresh ingredients in a small garden situated in the back of the facility, and has a pension for adding a bit of spice and hot flavor to their dishes- via chilies and peppers and other various spices. They are well known for their jalapeno poppers, nachos, and tacos.

-RHYS INTERACTING WITH THEIR BOUNDARY-
Rhys usually spends most of the business hours of the day either tucked away in the farthest reaches of the kitchen's pantry, or otherwise hiding somewhere in the garden outside. Due to Rhys' very small size, they are able to hide away in small spaces and corners, and avoid detection by the humans or other visiting animals all the easier. They generally dislike how busy the restaurant gets and especially hates the buzz and constant motion and noise on it's busier days, and remains tucked away and brooding for most of the day, every day. Usually Rhys only ever ventures out of a stationary hiding spot once the restaurant slows down and it's been locked up for the night, and will remain mostly quiet until opening the next late morning.
In the restaurant's off hours is when Rhys gets up to no good. They go around the restaurant, misplacing things such as ingredients, bundles of cutlery and silverware, plates, the whole works- and hides them in places where the humans are not likely to find them without searching for a decent amount of time. On particularly bad nights when Rhys is feeling especially unhappy or frustrated, they will even go so far as to break things, like plates or cups. Once or twice they have been known to tamper with the fridge/freezer in the kitchen and spoil some of the food inside overnight because it wasn't being cooled properly. Sometimes they even switch ingredients that can be mistaken for one another to trip up the cooks the next day, or tamper with some of the food that may have been prepared for the next day and stored away. And should Rhys get angry/frustrated enough with the rush and bustle of the day, their emotions may become so strong that lights and appliances in the restaurant and the kitchen may start to go a little haywire, causing a bit of panic and mayhem for the humans for a short amount of time.
Rhys also digs up the onsite garden occasionally and ruins some of the plant stocks, or bruises the fruit and vegetables when in a particularly bad mood.... though generally they stay away from the garden, and only tamper with it when some of the plants become unruly and get in the way of Rhys' established norms and paths throughout the facility. Rhys' OCD personality kicks in around the garden and the plants and the restaurant especially, and they make sure there is not a stem or branch or leaf out of place- and will fervently correct any mishaps or unruly behavior on the part of the vegetation. This also extends to nipping disease and wilting in the plants if it occurs, Rhys will get rid of the unseemly bits to make sure the plant is healthy again.... though of course these perfectionist ideals get thrown out the window in fits of anger when Rhys decides to muck up the herbs and vegetables and fruits. They will obsessively fix all the damage they create the next day though.
The humans mostly don't think much of these odd things, or blame each other- but there is a little rumor going around the staff and the locals that the restaurant is 'haunted'. (Because of course, the humans can't perceive Rhys, even if they were to catch Rhys out in the open). It is most amusing when they come to work the next day and find something that had been moved the day before returning to its original position... they've all made up a story that some old ghost is putting things back the way they want every night when everyone has gone home.
Rhys' behavior towards humans is lingering hatred and pain from when they were lost and before they had been transformed. Rhys' blames humans for the suffering they are still filled with even in this life, and hates them for how that original family of human's abandoned them to die as an infant. They cannot seem to get over the pain and suffering, and it manifests in nearly everything they do now- making Rhys hot-tempered, emotional, volatile, distrustful and prone to pulling away from the world and everyone in it. While in their boundary, Rhys has grown to dislike humans even more fervently for one very particular reason- they are messy.
Rhys’ OCD behavior and strict adherence to their established norm within their boundary makes the daily bustle and in and out of people in the restaurant all the more frustrating for them, because with every new human (and new animal) in- there’s that much more of a mess to be created. Food is dropped on the ground on a constant loop, spilled on the tables and the chairs and on just about every conceivable (as well as inconceivable) place. The crumbs and spills and stickiness is frustrating to an extreme for Rhys, but worse even still is the trash- paper straw coverings, receipts, food packaging, you name it. The staff at the restaurant clean up all throughout the day of course, but they always miss so many things- and Rhys is left to deal with the leftover mess themselves. It has to be clean, it has to be tidy, it has to be the way that Rhys’ has ordained everything to be- and it has to be done, or unwanted things venture in to try and scavenge off the filth. Flies and other bugs are a constant battle to be fought against, with birds and rodents being the next worst.
When other animals or Esk venture into their Boundary, Rhys usually does their best to chase them off (as in the case of pests looking for scraps) or otherwise avoid them entirely and not be seen. If something is making too much of a fuss or being too disruptive, Rhys will do their best to hatch some plan or trick to startle them and get them to leave. They particularly dislike creatures that are very bright and active and looking for attention, and hate it when they are pushy and trying really hard to get Rhys' attention. Rhys is not interested in friends or acquaintances, or anything of the sort and they push everyone away. If they don't leave in a short amount of time, Rhys' anger and frustration continues to grow, and their attempts at scaring them off become all the harsher.
Most other Esk don't usually come back after straying into Rhys' Boundary and being chased off, few dare to. Those who do however, are far and few between, and are usually extra cautious the second time around... of course it doesn't help much, Rhys' is still persistent in chasing them off, and these Esks don't lightly return a third time. If they do, Rhys becomes increasingly more angry and hurtful toward them, and lashes out emotionally.
Animals come back frequently, though it is fairly well known among the flora and fauna of the area and surrounding parkland they need to tread lightly around this restaurant, lest they set off the ire of the resident Esk.
